Welcome - Keith Macdonald A.I.C.M   N.A.B.B.C

Keith started his musical career at the age of 8 playing the cornet with tuition from father Stan Macdonald, Musical Director of the Dawdon Lodge Band, then progressed to trombone and piano.

He has gained valuable experience on solo trombone, competing at brass band contests and concerts in the U.K. During this time Keith had tremendous success and gained contest experience with the band playing at every venue from the fourth section to the championship section of the National Brass Band Championships held in London. Further experience was gained as a concert invited player with many of the North's Brass Bands.

At age 26 Keith started his career in brass band conducting and gained valuable experience working with musicians of all ages from fourth section to championship section. Keith has also acted as Adjudicator at solo/quartet/junior and senior band levels, and had the distinction of gaining tuition in conduction skills from prominent professional conductors.

To date Keith has achieved 103 First Prizes both as a player and a conductor. A notable achievement was gaining 3rd Prize conducting at the National Band Championships in the Royal Albert hall. During his career he has gained television, radio and recording experience with top bands. In the last few years Keith has achieved 3 First Prizes, 3 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes and appeared on 2 occasions at the National Brass Band Championship Finals in the Harrogate Conference Centre.
